Lineback Morse Named 2nd Team D3football.com Preseason All-America STERLING, VA - Christopher Newport linebacker Kareem Morse was named to the D3football.com Second Team All-America squad. Morse, a rising senior out of Hopewell High School in Hopewell, VA, was third on the team in tackles with 49 solos and 29 assisted tackles. He was second on the squad in tackles for a loss, third in sacks and led the team in fumbles recovered with four. Morse was a First Team All-USA South selection, named the Defensive Back/Linebacker of the Year by the Touchdown Club of Richmond, and was also a Football Gazette Player of the Week in November. Morse and the rest of the Captains open the 2005 season on Saturday, Sept. 3 at home as they host Rowan (NJ) with kick-off set for 1 pm. |
