CNU Finishes Second In VaSID All-Sports Survey

NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Christopher Newport's Department of Athletics finished second in the 2007 Virginia Sports Information Directors Association's All-Sports survey.

The award annually goes to the school, on the non-Division I level, that has the highest overall winning percentage of all its sports. Twenty-seven schools across Virginia participate in either NCAA Division II, III, NAIA or USCAA competition.

This year's winner was Washington & Lee who finished 2006-2007 with an overall record of 220-89-5 (.709). CNU finished second with an overall record of 221-98-3 (.691) Christopher Newport finished first on the women's side, with a record of 142-45-1 (.758). The Captains were sixth on the men's side with an overall record of 79-53-2 (597). VA Wesleyan placed first on the men's side with a record of 88-37-3 (.699).
