| CNU's Trible To Serve On NCAA Presidents Council NEWPORT NEWS , VA - Christopher Newport University President Paul Trible has been elected to the Division III Presidents Council of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). "At Christopher Newport, we are dedicated to the success of our students in the classroom and in athletics,” Trible said. “I am pleased that CNU will now be able to contribute to the success of intercollegiate athletics nationwide.” President Trible will serve a four-year term beginning in January. The NCAA Presidents Council is the highest governing body in Division III athletics. It includes 15 college and university presidents from the 419 Division III schools and represents over 137,000 student-athletes throughout the United States. Division III institutions are those in which student-athletes receive no financial aid related to their athletic ability. The NCAA is a voluntary organization through which the nation's colleges and universities govern their athletics programs. It comprises more than 1,250 institutions, conferences, organizations and individuals committed to the best interests, education and athletic participation of student athletes. | ||||||
