Baseball Picked To Finish Fifth In USA South Preseason Poll

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - Christopher Newport's baseball team was chosen to finish fifth in the 2007 USA South Preseason Poll released by the conference Wednesday afternoon.

The Captains are coming off a 19-20 season a year ago and were 9-9 in conference play. CNU received 17 points in the poll.

NC Wesleyan was selected to repeat as conference champions. The Bishops received six first place votes and 36 total points.

Christopher Newport kicks-off the 2007 season on Saturday, February 3 when they host Guilford at 2 pm.
