Moreland Named USA South Pitcher Of The Week

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - Christopher Newport baseball player Kenny Moreland was named the USA South Pitcher of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.

Moreland, a sophomore from Springfield, VA, tossed eight solid innings, allowed one run on three hits, walked five and struck out 13 in the Captains 6-3 win over Greensboro Saturday afternoon. It was the second time this season Moreland received the honor.

Christopher Newport is 10-8 overall and 5-4 in the USA South. CNU returns to action Thursday as they travel to Bridgewater with first pitch set for 3 pm.
