FREDERICKSBURG, VA - Christopher Newport's baseball team handed eighth-ranked Mary Washington its first home loss Tuesday afternoon as the Captains dispatched the Eagles 4-1.

CNU would extend its lead to 2-0 with a run in the third. Trae Bailey singled and stole second and advanced to third on a dropped third strike to Quinn. Bailey came around to score on Corbin's RBI single.

Mary Washington would cut the lead in half, scoring its only run of the game in the bottom of the third to trail 2-1.

With two outs, Garrett Robinson singled and promptly stole second and then third base. Michael Kurbjeweit reached on an error allowing Robinson to score. Kurbjeweit then stole second and followed that up by stealing third. Bailey's single to right field plated Kurbjeweit.

The Captains stole a season-high 12 bases in the game without getting caught.

Corbin led the offensive attack going 2-for-4 with two RBI. Quinn and Bailey also finished 2-for-4. Ryan McDougal, Jayson Basanes and Robinson each contributed one hit.
