Baseball Concludes USA South Play With a 2-0 Loss at NC Wesleyan

NEWPORT NEWS, VA - CNU's baseball team finished conference play with a 2-0 loss at NC Wesleyan Sunday afternoon.

The Captains will be seeded third at this weekend's USA South Conference Tournament in Danville, VA.

The Bishops scored twice in the bottom of the eighth innning to secure the win.

Eben Brower pitched a complete game allowing two runs, one earned on eight hits while walking none and striking out four. He is now 4-3 on the year.

Jayson Basanes and Charlie Hardie each had two hits for the Captains.

CNU is now 20-10 overall and 10-7 in the USA South. The Captains will play the winner of the play-in game between Averett and Shenandoah on Friday at 1:15 at Dan Daniel Park in Danville, VA.
