Baseball Drops 1-0 Decision To NC Wesleyan DANVILLE, VA - CNU's baseball team's hopes of winning the 2005 USA South Conference title were dashed Saturday as NC Wesleyan knocked out the Captains 1-0 in an elimination game. The Bishops scored the lone run in the second inning. CNU had numerous chances with runners in scoring position and less than two outs, but could not come up with a clutch hit. Garrett Robinson led the Captains going 2-for-4. Rob Quinn, Jayson Basanes, John Corbin, Jason Moody, Will Auman and Charlie Hardie each had one hit for CNU. Kenny Moreland suffered just his second loss of the year. The freshman hurler tossed a complete-game, allowed one run on six hits while walking one and striking out four. The Captains are now 23-12 and return to action April 21 as CNU hosts Mary Washington. First pitch is set for 3 pm. |
