MARYVILLE, TN - Two Christopher Newport baseball players earned All-South Region honors in a release Thursday afternoon.
Junior first baseman John Corbin earned Second Team accolades. Corbin had his best season to date, finishing the year with the third best batting average in school history, .434. He finished with team highs in hits (62), doubles (13), RBIs (42) and on-base percentage (.494). Corbin was also a First Team All-USA South choice and a Second Team All-State pick.
Senior second baseman Ricky Medina earned Honorable Mention All-South honors. Medina finished with a .305 batting average, 40 hits, 17 runs scored, four doubles, two home runs and 12 RBIs. He also was a First Team All-USA South choice and a Second Team All-State selection.
