No. 9 Field Hockey Shuts Out Catholic, 2-0

NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Christopher Newport's field hockey team, ranked ninth in the nation, shutout Catholic at Captains Field 2-0 Sunday afternoon.

Diana Golden scored the game's eventual winner in the 20th minute off a nice pass from Haylie Black. Black added an insurance goal in the 54th minute on penalty corner with Ashley Hay assisting.

The Captains out-shot the Cardinals, 22-1. Elexa Nosonchuk, making her first career start in goal, recorded one save in the shutout win.

CNU improves to 5-1 on the year. Christopher Newport returns to action next Sunday when they travel to Shenandoah with start time set for 1 pm.
