Moura Named Womensfieldhockey.com Coach Of The Year, Traylor and Mayer Named All-America

NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Christopher Newport field hockey Head Coach Carrie Moura was named the womensfieldhockey.com Coach of the Year while Ashley Traylor and Jacque Mayer received their second All-America honors of 2006.

Moura, who just completed her fourth year at CNU, led the Lady Captains to the program's best ever record at 14-4. She also led her team to the program's first ever NCAA appearance where they reached the Elite 8. The Lady Captains also were ranked in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association's (NFHCA) top 20 poll for the first time ever.

Traylor was named Second Team All-America by the NFHCA and was a First Team All-American selection by womensfieldhockey.com.

Mayer, was became the first player in program history to be named All-Region in 2005, was a Third Team All-American selection.
