Women's Lacrosse To Play Washington & Lee At 4 PM In NCAA Tournament
NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Christopher Newport's women's lacrosse team will travel to Old Dominion Athletic Conference champion Washington & Lee for a first round NCAA Tournament match Wednesday afternoon at 4 pm.
Washington & Lee will also broadcast the game on the internet and can listen to it live from your home. Tickets at $3 for adults, $2 for students and $1 for children under 12.
The Lady Captains, recipients of the first automatic bid ever in the USA South, will take on the Generals for the first time ever in program history. Game time has yet to be finalized and should be set Monday.
CNU is 11-7 overall and finished 5-1 in the USA South. The Lady Captains defeated Methodist and Greensboro in the USA South Conference Tournament to earn the bid into the NCAA's for the first time in school history.
Washington & Lee finished the regular season 15-3 overall and 8-0 in the ODAC. The Generals are paced by Amanda Strickler who has scored 23 goals and assisted on 35 others for 58 points. Kate Lester leads the team with 36 goals and is second on the team in points with 39.
