Lewis Named USA South Player Of The Week

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - Christopher Newport men's basketball player Korey Lewis was named the USA South's Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon.

Lewis became the second CNU player to earn the award this season. Davon Barton received the same honor back on November 28, 2006.

Lewis was instrumental in the Captains only game last week, which was a 78-74 win over Wesley (DE). He finished 10-of-17 from the floor for 20 points and also grabbed 10 rebounds in the win. Lewis also swatted two shots but it was his put-back with six seconds left in the second half that secured the win for the Captains.

Christopher Newport is 8-4 overall and returns to action Wednesday as they open USA South play on the road at Shenandoah with tip set for 7:30 pm.
