Men's Lacrosse Falls To Greensboro, 19-10

NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Christopher Newport's men's lacrosse team dropped a 19-10 decision to Greensboro at Captains Field Saturday afternoon.

The Captains had an early 3-2 lead after the first quarter. The Pride answered by out-scoring Christopher Newport 6-2 to take an 8-5 lead at halftime.

Both teams scored three times in the third stanza, but GC pulled away with four goals in the fourth quarter for the win.

Ryan Merrell paced the Captains with five goals and one assist. Chris Quigley scored twice and Logan Keyser added one goal and one assist. Michael Turk and Mike Burns each added one goal. Nick Cavallaro had three assists.

CNU out-shot the Pride, 41-39.

The Captains fall to 4-6 overall while Greensboro improves to 4-7. CNU returns to action Monday as they travel to Eastern (PA) with start time set for 3:30 pm.
