Men's Lacrosse To Host Charitable Lacrosse Event

TripleEDGE Lacrosse named title sponsor of Inaugural ‘Lacrosse for Smiles’

NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Christopher Newport University men’s lacrosse coach Chris Swanenburg has announced that the Captains will host a four team fall play day in Northern Virginia on Sunday, October 8.

The charitable event, which will be presented by Northern Virginia-based TripleEDGE Lacrosse and referred to as ‘Lacrosse for Smiles’, will benefit Operation Smile. Operation Smile is a a not-for-profit volunteer medical services organization that provides free reconstructive surgery and related health care to children and young adults around the world who suffer with facial deformities.

“We are delighted to be a part of this event and are thrilled to have TripleEDGE Lacrosse as the title sponsor,” commented Swanenburg. “We look forward to a great day of lacrosse on behalf of a truly worthy cause.”

CNU will be joined by Franklin & Marshall, Randolph-Macon and St. Mary’s in the round-robin play day to be held at Old Redskin Park in Herndon, Virginia. Six games are scheduled for the day with the first face-offs taking place at 1:00 p.m.
