Six Men's Soccer Players Earn All-Conference Honors

FAYETTEVILLE, NC - Six Christopher Newport men's soccer players earned All-Conference honors, the USA South announced Wednesday afternoon.

Junior forward Galen Small was named First Team All-Conference at forward. Small, a Yorktown, VA native, is second on the team in goals with eight and points with 18 in just 13 games.

Junior midfielder Daniel Fogarty also earned First Team honors. The Yorktown, VA native leads the squad in goals with 10, assists with six and points with 26.

Also earning First Team accolades were defenders Matt Page and Bryan Davis. The two anchor the Captains defense which has allowed 21 goals in 18 games.

Junior midfielder Derek Shaw earned Second Team All-Conference honors. The Williamsburg, VA native is tied for third on the squad in goals with five and points with 13.

Goalkeeper Tommy Vieten was named Honorable Mention All-Conference. The sophomore from Ashburn, VA is 6-3 in goal with 24 saves, nine goals allowed, a 1.00 goals against average and five shutouts.
