Men's Tennis Falls At No. 17 Washington & Lee, 9-0

LEXINGTON, VA - Christopher Newport's men's tennis team was shut out 9-0 at 17th-ranked Washington & Lee Saturday morning.

In doubles action, Nat Estes and Tim Ross defeated No. 8 (Atlantic South) Eddie Glidewell and John Mook (CNU) 8-5 at No. 1; Jon Malooly and Jamie McCardell defeated John Braig and Steve Myers (CNU) 8-3; Seth Feibelman and Stuart Sanford defeated David Weiner and Dylan Young (CNU) 8-2.

In singles play, Ross defeated No. 17 Glidewell (CNU) 6-4, 6-2; Estes defeated No. 15 Mook (CNU) 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2; Malooly defeated Braig 6-1, 6-3; Feibelman defeated Young 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4; McCardell defeated Myers 6-2, 6-3; Sanford defeated Kevin Repper (CNU) 6-0, 6-4 at No. 6.

The Captains fall to 9-4 while Washington & Lee improves to 14-2. CNU returns to action Sunday as they take on the Atlantic South's 9th-ranked team, Rhodes (TN) at 8:30 am at an indoor facility in Lexington, VA.
