Men's Tennis Falls At No. 9 Mary Washington, 7-2

FREDERICKSBURG, VA - Christopher Newport's men's tennis squad concluded the regular season with a 7-2 loss at ninth-ranked Mary Washington Tuesday afternoon.

In doubles action, No. 8 (Atlantic South) Eddie Glidewell and John Mook (CNU) defeated Zach Detweiler and Randy Loden 8-3 at No. 1; John James and Jon Pollak defeated John Braig and Steve Myers (CNU) 8-4; and Eddie Carver and Evan Goff defeated David Weiner and Dylan Young (CNU) 8-0 at No. 3.

In singles play, Mook (CNU) defeated Loden 7-6 (7-3), 6-2 at No. 1; Dunn defeated Glidewell 7-5, 3-6, 1-0 (11-9); Goff defeated Braig (CNU) 2-6, 6-4, 6-0 at No. 3; Carver defeated Young (CNU) 6-2, 6-0; Pollak defeated Myers (CNU) 7-5, 6-0 at No. 5; and Detweiler defeated Weiner (CNU) 6-1, 6-2.

Christopher Newport falls to 12-7 overall while the Eagles improve to 14-7. The Captains return to action Friday for a quarterfinal match in the USA South Tournament in Burlington, NC. Match time is 9 am and their opponent is yet to be determined.
