Fogarty Sets A New School Record, Several Others Qualify For NCAA Championships

BLACKSBURG, VA - Christopher Newport track athlete Megan Fogarty set another new school record in the 1 Mile Run and many others will join her at the NCAA Indoor Championships next weekend.

Fogarty, a senior, lowered her school record to 4:57.27. Additionally, this time improves her to the #5 position in the nation on the national qualifying list.

Also, Rob Rodriquez, in the men's triple jump, leaped 47'-1.50" to qualify, as did the men's 4 x 400 relay team of Greg Jones, Matt Griffis, Greg Moulton, and Matt Weisenborn with a time of 3:19.52.

As it stands now CNU will have 10 athletes going to the NCAA Championships, who are Karen Simon, Mara Winters, Rachael Clark, Fogarty, Joseph Owens, Rodriquez, Jones, Moulton, Griffis, and Weisenborn.  

NCAA Indoor Championships are next week in Northfield, MN
