NORTHFIELD, MN - Several Christopher Newport athletes competed on day two of the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships Saturday at St. Olaf College.
Megan Fogarty, who qualified for the finals of the women's mile finished sixth overall with a time of 5:00.14.
Rachael Clark's shot put toss of 43' 1.5" did not qualify her for the finals.
Rob Rodriguez finished second in his flight in the triple jump with a leap of 45' 8.5" to qualify for the finals. He then placed ninth in the finals with a jump of 45' 9.75",
Karen Simon qualified for the finals of the 55-meter hurdles Friday, finished the finals in eighth place with a time of 8.44 seconds.
Fogarty, Simon and Joseph Owens all earned All-American honors for their performances at the NCAA Indoor Championships.
Head Coach Louis Johnson was pleased with the performance of his athletes. They showed a lot of class and grace. There is a great deal of promise in the future for these athletes, and we intend to see them reach their promise Coach Johnson went on to say.
