Bryant Named Third Team All-South Region

STERLING, VA - Christopher Newport women's basketball player Candace Bryant was named to the Third Team All-South Region by D3hoops.com Tuesday.

Bryant was a First Team All-USA South Conference selection in 2005-2006. She was second on the team in scoring (13.8 ppg) and led the Lady Captains in rebounding (10.0 rpg). She finished the year averaging a double-double for the second straight season. She also scored her 1,000th career point in a CNU uniform.

Bryant was also a Third Team All-South choice as a sophomore last season and was voted to the First Team All-State by the Virginia Sports Information Directors one year ago.

CNU finished with an overall record of 17-9 and 11-3 and finished second in the USA South Conference regular season standings.
