Women's Soccer To Host VA Wesleyan Saturday At 5 PM

NEWPORT NEWS, VA - Christopher Newport's women's soccer team will host VA Wesleyan at 5 pm on Saturday for a first round game in the NCAA Tournament at Captains Field.

CNU and VA Wesleyan met once already this season. The Marlins defeated the Lady Captains back on Oct. 12 in VA Beach. That was also the site of the CNU's last loss, as the Lady Captains are riding an eight-game winning streak where they have out scored their opponents 45-2.

In the other first round game, Lynchburg College and Catholic will square off at 7:30 pm. The winners of Saturday's games will meet Sunday at 5 pm at Captains Field in a second round match-up.

CNU finished the regular season 14-4-1 and won the USA South Conference Tournament for the second consecutive season and third time in program history. The Marlins are 18-1-1 overall and are coming off a 1-0 loss to Guilford in the semifinals of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament.

Tickets prices are $6 for General Admission, $3 for students and senior citizens and $2 for children 3-12.
