Renkin Named Third Team All-American
MISSION, KS - Christopher Newport women's soccer player Emily Renkin became the second player in program history to earn an All-American award, the National Soccer Coaches Association of America announced Thursday.
Renkin earned Third Team honors in 2005 and joins Natalie Stallings (3rd team in 2002) as the only other CNU women's soccer player to earn All-American honors.
Renkin finished the year with a school record 17 goals and 39 points. She was named the 2005 USA South Women's Soccer Player of the Year and was also a First Team All-USA South choice.
The Lady Captains finished 14-5-1 overall and 6-0 in the USA South. CNU was regular season and tournament champions in the USA South and advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the second consecutive season and third time in six seasons.
