Women's Tennis Sweeps Muskingum, 9-0
HILTON HEAD, SC - Christopher Newport's women's tennis squad swept Muskingum Tuesday morning on its annual spring break trip.
The Lady Captains have now won seven straight, five of which have been shutouts.
In singles play, Lindsey Pantele (CNU) defeated Morgan Watler, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1; Stefanie Leblang (CNU) defeated Katie Kruza 6-1, 6-1; Frannie Shivar (CNU) defeated Nicole Meyer 6-1, 6-0 at No. 3; Brittany Stevens (CNU) defeated Carolina Giammarco 6-1, 6-1; Liz Thedford (CNU) defeated Anya Belyaevskay 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 and Adele Billings (CNU) was a 6-2, 6-1 winner over Trish Saft.
In doubles competition, Pantele and Leblang (CNU) defeated Watler and Kruza, 8-0; Shivar and Stevens (CNU) defeated Meyer and Giammarco 8-1 at No. 2 and Chandler Long and Katy Heath defeated Belyaevskaya and Saft, 8-0.
The Lady Captains are now 7-0 on the year. CNU returns to action Thursday as they take on Lynchburg at 12 pm in Hilton Head.
