LACROSSE STUNS FERRUM, 17-12, TO GAIN DIXIE TOURNAMENT FINALS

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The lacrosse team, led by Wendy Wilson’s nine goals and two assists, defeated Ferrum, 17-12, to win its way into the Dixie Conference championship game against Greensboro Sunday.

CNU built an 8-6 halftime lead and then held off several Ferrum challenges in the second half. Maggie Olson added four goals for CNU and Mary Cortina had three.

The lady Captains, now 2-8, meet Greensboro at 1 p.m. on Captains Field.
