LACROSSE FALLS TO VA WESLEYAN ON CONTROVERSIAL GAME WINNING GOAL

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – CNU’s lacrosse team lost to VA Wesleyan Wednesday 9-8 on a controversial goal scored by the Lady Marlins as time expired in regulation at Captains Field.

The Lady Captains led 8-5 with three minutes left in the game when VWC scored four unanswered goals, including the controversial game-winner with no time left on the clock.

Head Coach Kwame Lloyd said that this game was one of the best game’s his team has played despite the loss.

Elaine Kirby and Sally Allstadt led the CNU attack with two goals each. Hadley Silver, Laura Hayes, Meagan Pfarr, and Kristen Johnson added one goal each.

Hayes, Lacey Milburn, Kirby and Allstadt had one assist each.

The Lady Captains were out shot 23-12 and fall to 1-3 on the year.

CNU returns to action this Sunday on the road at Methodist with start time set for 2 pm.
