LACROSSE DOWNS AVERETT 22-3

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – CNU’s lacrosse team defeated Averett Sunday afternoon at Captains Field 22-3.

The Lady Captains out scored the Lady Cougars 15-1 in the first half.

CNU was led by Arissa Malick with four goals and Lacey Milburn, Meagan Pfarr, Sally Allstadt and Katherine Swisher finished with two goals each. Lori Bickham, Elaine Kirby, Renee Nagle, Hannah Seidl, Ann Blaschke, Amy Zucharo, Katie Ross, Carlina Figueroa, Megan Thompson, and Kristen Conques finished with one goal apiece.

Bickham led the Lady Captains with three assists while Malick, Milburn, Pfarr and Swisher contributed one assist each.

CNU out shot Averett 42-9. Elizabeth Werbiskis had four saves in goal.

The Lady Captains are now 5-8 overall and 3-1 in the USA South.

CNU returns to action Wednesday as they host Shenandoah with start time set for 4:30 pm.
