LACROSSE FALLS TO GREENSBORO 18-9

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – CNU’s lacrosse team hosted Greensboro College Saturday afternoon and lost to the Pride 18-9.

With the win, Greensboro takes home the regular season Dixie Conference Championship and the number one seed in the Dixie Conference Tournament.

The Lady Captains held a brief lead in the first half before the Pride took over and eventually out scored CNU 11-5 in the first half of play.

Elaine Kirby led the Lady Captains attack scoring six goals and adding one assist. Natalie Musashe, Sally Allstadt and Amy Zucharo added one goal each.

Laura Hayes also had one assist.

Greensboro out shot CNU 35-15.

Erin Bell played the entire game in goal and made seven saves.

The Lady Captains are now 5-6 overall and 4-1 in the Dixie Conference and return to action this Tuesday at Trinity (DC) with start time set for 5 pm.
