TOP SEEDED LACROSSE FALLS TO SHENANDOAH 11-9

FERRUM, VA – Top seeded Christopher Newport’s lacrosse team dropped an 11-9 decision to Shenandoah in the semifinals of the USA South Conference Tournament Friday afternoon.

The Lady Captains actually led at halftime 5-4, but surrendered seven second half goals.

Kristen Conques led CNU with four goals and one assist. Kristyn Hankins, Sally Allstadt, Celia Mallory, Elaine Kirby, and Amy Zucharo contributed one goal each in the loss. Lori Bickham added one assist while Kirby contributed two.

Elizabeth Werbiskis finished with eight saves in goal.

The Lady Captains finished the season 6-9 overall.
