JOHNSON WINS NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN TRIPLE JUMP, OTHERS HAVE FINE SHOWING AT NATIONALS
GREENCASTLE, IND – LaNeatra Johnson won a National Championship in the triple jump with a mark of 40 feet 7 inches, a new school record, at Indoor Nationals held on the campus of DePauw University this past weekend.
Johnson broke the old record previously held by Casey Taylor.
Happy Darcus placed second in the 55 meters with a time of 7.12. Matt Mertz placed third in the triple jump with a mark of 47 feet 6 ½ inches.
As a team, the women placed eighth with a score of 18 points and the men finished 33rd with a score of 6 points.
