SOFTBALL TAKES THREE OF FIVE IN METHODIST TOURNAMENT

 

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – CNU’s softball squad traveled to Methodist College for the Methodist College Tournament and won three of the five games they played in.

The Lady Captains defeated Savannah 6-5, in the first game on Friday.  Vanessa Gray was the winning pitcher.  Nicole Slosjarik went 4 for 4 and Jennifer Nowacki went 2 for 4.

In game two, CNU defeated Susquehanna 5-4.  Gray pitched a complete game for the win.  Tammi Perok led the attack with three hits.  Nicole Gray, Slosjarik, and Kristin Foose had two hits a piece.

In game three, the Lady Captains dropped a 7-6 decision to Emory & Henry.  Gray suffered the loss.  Nicole Gray led the way with three hits.  Perok and Foose added two hits and Rachel Doyle hit a home run.

In their final game of day one, CNU lost to Messiah 3-0.  Barbara Rose took the loss.  Perok led the way with two hits.

In their lone game on Saturday, the Lady Captains defeated Lycoming 3-0.  Vanessa Gray won her third game of the year.  Renee Sigafoos had a two-run home run.  Stacey Hundley and Doyle added two hits.

CNU is now 3-2 on the season.

The Lady Captains next contest is this Wednesday at home against NC Wesleyan at 2:30 pm.
