SOFTBALL SWEEPS DOUBLEHEADER FROM VA WESLEYAN

NORFOLK, VA – CNU’s softball team swept a non-conference doubleheader against cross-water rival VA Wesleyan Tuesday afternoon.

The Lady Captains won game one behind a strong pitching performance from Michelle Kass. Lauren Batson went 3-for-3, Andrea Rhode was 2-for-2 and C.J. McQueen was 3-for-4.

In game two, Vanessa Gray pitched CNU to a 9-0 win. Dallas Slosjarik led the offense going 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in the third and finished with three RBIs. Batson finished 3-for-4, Nicole Gray was 2-for-3, and McQueen went 3-for-3.

The Lady Captains are now 4-0 and return to action Wednesday as they host the University of Mary Washington with first pitch set for 1 pm.
