SOFTBALL SPLITS TWO GAMES IN VA WESLEYAN TOURNAMENT

NORFOLK, VA – CNU’s softball team defeated Gwynedd-Mercy 5-0 and lost to Rowan 2-0 Sunday afternoon.

Against Gwynedd-Mercy, sophomore newcomer Michelle Kass went 7 innings and pitched a no-hitter. She struck out 10 batters en route to the win.

Dallas Slosjarik led the Lady Captain attack going 2-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs. Renee Sigafoos went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs. Vanessa Gray also doubled in the win.

In game two, CNU was held to three hits. Vanessa Gray took the loss and she is now 1-2.

The Lady Captains are now 3-2 and will play Moravian Monday at Destany Park in a single game set to begin at 2:30 pm.
