SOFTBALL GOES 2-2 AT VA WESLEYAN TOURNAMENT

 

NORFOLK, VA – CNU’s softball team traveled across the water and went 2-2 in the VA Wesleyan Tournament held this past weekend.

The Lady Captains were victorious over Rowan 1-0 and Messiah 2-0.

Against Rowan, Stacey Hundley led the way with 2 hits drove in the game’s only run.  Vanessa Gray picked up her fifth win of the season.

Versus Messiah, the Lady Captains defeated Messiah, whom they lost to in the Methodist Tournament.  Jen Harrell led the attack for CNU with two hits.  Gray picked up her sixth win of the season.

The Lady Captains lost to Moravian 7-2.

Dallas Slosjarik and Jennifer Nowacki drove in both CNU runs on solo home runs.

Page Robbins suffered the loss.

CNU also lost to Juniata 8-7.

Slosjarik, Nowacki, Gray, Harrell, and Hundley all led the way for the Lady Captains with two hits a piece.  One of Harrell’s hits was a home run.

Gray took the loss.

CNU is now 7-4 overall and 2-0 in the Dixie Conference.

The Lady Captains return to action this Tuesday on the road at Salisbury at 2 pm.
