SOFTBALL SWEEPS DOUBLE HEADER AT SHENANDOAH
In game one, the Lady Captains scored 12 runs in the top half of the third inning en route to the win.
Dallas Slosjarik led the way in game one going 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Jen Harrell went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored, Renee Sigafoos was also 2-for-3 with two runs scored, and Rachel Doyle was also 2-for-3. Lauren Batson was 1-for-3 with two runs scored, Vanessa Gray, Andrea Thorson, and Tiffany Viers also had one hit each.
Gray (2-2) was the winner going four innings striking out five and allowing two hits. Cynthia McQueen pitched one inning allowing one run on one hit and striking out one.
In game two, CNU scored four runs in the second and third and added one in the fourth and two in the fifth for the victory.
Tammi Perok led the offensive attack going 2-for-3 with two RBIs, Harrell was 2-for-4, Gray was 2-for-3 with two RBIs, and Batson was 1-for-2 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Sigafoos and Thorson each had one hit.
Kass picked up her fourth win of the season allowing her first earned run in 38 1/3 innings. Kass allowed three runs, two earned, six hits, and three strikeouts.
