SOFTBALL SWEEPS DOUBLE HEADER FROM RANDOLPH-MACON

 

ASHLAND, VACNU’s softball team defeated Randolph-Macon 12-1 and 17-0 Monday afternoon on the road.

In game one, Michelle Kass won her fifth game tossing a one-hitter.  The lone hit she gave up was a home run.

Tammi Perok led the attack going 3-for-3 with a double, Jen Harrell was 2-for-3 with three RBIs, Renee Sigafoos was 1-for-3 with a three-run home run and Andrea Thorson was 1-for-2 with a home run.

In game two, Vanessa Gray won her third contest of the year tossing a two-hitter while striking out eight.

Gray was also 2-for-4 with three RBIs, her sister Nicole was also 2-for-4, Cynthia McQueen was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a home run.  Perok was 2-for-5 with a double and Dallas Slosjarik was 2-for-3 with a double.  Lauren Batson was 2-for-2.

The Lady Captains improve to 8-3-1 overall and return to action this Wednesday on the road as they travel to Ferrum with first pitch set for 2:30 pm.
