SOFTBALL SPLITS DOUBLE HEADER WITH AVERETT

 

DANVILLE, VA – CNU’s softball team split it first conference double header of the season losing 5-1 and winning 7-4 at Averett Thursday afternoon.

In game one, the Lady Captains managed just four hits as Michelle Kass suffered the loss and is now 5-4 on the year.

In game two, CNU clubbed 16 hits as Vanessa Gray maintained her perfect season on the mound to improve to 9-0.  Lauren Batson was 3-for-4, Dallas Slosjarik was 3-for-4 with a double and Gray also went 3-for-4 with a double.

The Lady Captains are now 14-4 overall and 1-1 in the USA South Conference.

CNU returns to action this Saturday as they host Shenandoah with first pitch set for 1 pm.
