SOFTBALL SWEEPS RANDOLPH-MACON, 4-0 AND 16-0

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The softball team took a doubleheader from Randolph-Macon Tuesday at home, shuting out the Yellow Jackets in both games, 4-0 and 16-0.

In the first game Donna Cerami pitched a two-hitter to improve to 8-2 for the year. Tammi Perok hit a two-run home in the first and Stacey Hundley was 2-3.

In the second game Vanessa Gray improved to 6-2 with another two-hitter. Renee Zigafoos homered in the fourth, Perok was 2-3 with a double and three RBIs, Jen Harrell was 3-3 with a double and triple, Jennifer Nowacki was 2-4 with a triple and Gray went 2-4 with a triple.

The wins improved CNU’s record to 14-5. The Lady Captains travel to Randolph-Macon Woman’s College on Saturday.
