SOFTBALL SWEEPS DOUBLE HEADER FROM NC WESLEYAN
NEWPORT NEWS, VA – CNU’s softball swept a double header by winning both games by a score of 6-0 Saturday afternoon.
In game one, Michelle Kass picked up her ninth win of the year going the distance allowing five hits while walking two and striking out seven. Lauren Batson finished 2-for-4 and Nicole Gray was 2-for-3 with a RBI. Renee Sigafoos had a double and scored twice while Amy Lowe added a two-run triple.
In game two, Vanessa Gray picked up her 12th win going seven innings allowing three hits while walking one and striking out five.
CJ McQueen led the bottom of the first off with a solo home run. Batson went 2-for-4, Susan Ishman finished 2-for-3 with a RBI and Andrea Rhode went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
The Lady Captains are now 22-4 overall and 9-1 in the USA South.
CNU returns to action tomorrow as they travel to Greensboro with first pitch set for 1 pm.
