SOFTBALL SWEEPS GREENSBORO
GREENSBORO, NC – CNU’s softball squad traveled to Greensboro College Friday afternoon and swept the Lady Pride 22-3 and 15-6.
The Lady Captains fell behind in the first game 3-0 but roared back for 22 unanswered runs. CNU scored 11 runs with two outs in the top of the fifth inning, seven in the fourth and four in the third.
The Lady Captains were led by Dallas Slosjarik who was 4-5 with 2 doubles, a triple, 5 RBIs and 3 runs. Stacey Hundley was 3-4 with 4 RBIs and 2 runs. Jen Harrell, Jennifer Nowacki, Rachel Doyle and winning pitcher Vanessa Gray added two hits each. One of Gray’s hits was a home run.
In game two, CNU defeated Greensboro 15-6.
Hundley was 4-4 with 4 runs. Slosjarik also had four hits and 2 RBIs. Doyle was 2-4 with a home run. Gray also had two hits.
Barbara Rose went the distance to pick up her fourth win of the season.
The Lady Captains are now 17-6 overall and 7-1 in the Dixie Conference.
CNU returns to action April 1 against Ferrum beginning at 2:30 pm.
