SOFTBALL SPLITS WITH SO. VIRGINIA
BUENA VISTA, VA – CNU’s softball team’s split a doubleheader Tuesday afternoon as the Lady Captains lost the first game to So. VA 6-5 in 8 innings and won the second game 9-6.
In game one, Stacey Hundley led CNU with three hits. Jennifer Nowacki and Renee Sigafoos added two hits each. One of Sigafoos’ hits was a triple.
Vanessa Gray suffered the loss, she is now 11-3 on the season.
In game two, the Lady Captains rebounded for the 9-6 win. Jen Harrell led CNU going 4-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs. Dallas Slosjarik added three hits. Hundley, Nowacki and Sigafoos added two hit apiece. Sigafoos’ hits were a triple and a two-run home run in the third inning.
Page Robbins got the victory and is now 3-3 on the year.
The Lady Captains are now 18-7 overall and 7-1 in the Dixie Conference.
CNU returns to action this Saturday at Villa Julie with first pitch set for 12 pm.
