KASS TOSSES PERFECT GAME AS SOFTBALL SWEEPS DOUBLE HEADER AT FERRUM

 

FERRUM, VACNU’s softball squad swept a Dixie Conference double header from Ferrum on the road Friday afternoon.

In game one, the Lady Captains defeated Ferrum 3-0.  Michelle Kass pitched a perfect game to improve to 11-1 on the season.  Kass struck out eight batters and walked none.

Rachel Doyle provided all the offense the Lady Captains would need with a 3-run home run in the fifth inning.

In game two, CNU downed the Lady Panthers 4-0.

Vanessa Gray was the winning pitcher and is now 8-3-1 overall and went 2-for-2 with a double and a solo home run.  She finished with three RBIs.  Gray walked none and struck out five.  Jen Harrell went 2-for-2.

CNU is now 19-4-1 overall and 6-1 in the Dixie Conference.

The Lady Captains return to action this Sunday on the road at Mary Washington with first pitch set for 1pm.
