SOFTBALL SWEEPS DIXIE DOUBLEHEADER FROM FERRUM

NEWPORT NEWS, VA - The Lady Captains of Christopher Newport scored three runs in the fourth inning of both games against Ferrum Tuesday, and held on to win both games.

CNU won the first game, 3-2, as Vanessa Gray improved her record to 14-3 with a complete-game effort.

The Lady Captains took the nightcap, 3-1, as Barbara Rose went the distance and improved to 6-1 on the year.

CNU never trailed in the doubleheader. Dallas Slosjarik had two hits in each game and was 4 for 6 overall with 2 RBIs.

Christopher Newport is now 24-7 overall and 9-1 atop the Dixie Conference standings.

The Lady Captains host Mary Washington in a non-conference doubleheader Thursday beginning at 3 pm.
