SOFTBALL SWEEPS MARY WASHINGTON

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The softball team prepared for an important Dixie Conference weekend road trip by sweeping Mary Washington, 4-1 and 9-0, Thursday afternoon at Destany Park.

In the opener, Vanessa Gray hurled a two-hitter to improve her record to 15-3. She was supported at the plate by Dallas Slosjarik who was 2-3 with a double.

Freshman Page Robbins tossed a two-hitter in the second game which ended after five innings. Robbins is now 5-3 on the year.

Stacey Hundley was 3-4 and Jen Harrell 2-3.

CNU is now 26-7, while Mary Washington has a 19-15 mark.

The Lady Captains close regular season Dixie Conference play by visiting Chowan Saturday and Methodist Sunday.
