SOFTBALL SPLITS DOUBLE HEADER WITH CHOWAN
NEWPORT NEWS, VA – CNU’s softball team hosted Chowan in a make-up game Tuesday afternoon and split a double header with the Lady Braves at Destany Park.
In game one, the Lady Captains lost 4-1.
Meryah Breeden's 3-run HR in the 5th broke the game open for Chowan.
Tammi Perok was 3-for-4 and Renee Sigafoos was 2-for-4 for CNU.
Michelle Kass took the loss, her second of the year allowing four unearned runs on 11 hits while walking one and striking out just one.
In game two, the Lady Captains won 5-1
Vanessa Gray took a no-hitter into the seventh inning before allowing two singles en route to picking up her 12 win of the season. She allowed two hits, one unearned run while walking one and striking out eight.
Lauren Batson led the way going 3-for-3. Rachel Doyle was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and Dallas Slosjarik was 2-for-2.
