SOFTBALL DEFEATS AVERETT AND CHOWAN BUT FALLS TO FERRUM 2-1

TARBORO, NC – CNU’s softball team Chowan and Averett and fell to fourth seeded Ferrum in Dixie Conference softball action Saturday.

CNU pounded out 15 hits en route to eliminating Chowan College, 12-2.

Stacey Hundley was 3-4 with two RBI and two runs. Tammi Perok was 3-4 with a double, two RBI and two runs.

The Lady Captains then defeated Averett 12-3.

Jennifer Nowacki was 4-for-5 with a home run and two RBI. Dallas Slosjarik was 3-for-5 with three RBI. Perok was 3-for-5 with a triple and three runs scored.

CNU fell to Ferrum 2-1 in the morning contest.

Hundley led the Lady Captains with two hits.

Vanessa Gray suffered the loss.

Ferrum’s Stacy Porter struck out 16 Lady Captains and didn’t allow an earned run.

The Lady Captains are now 33-10.

CNU takes on Methodist Sunday morning at 11 am.
