SOFTBALL SWEEPS SHENANDOAH, 13-0 AND 19-0
NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The softball team had an easy day Saturday
with 13-0 and 19-0 five innings wins over Shenandoah at Captains Field.
In the first game Donna Cerami allowed only a soft infield hit
with one out in the fifth to ruin a perfect game. She was also 3-3 at the
plate. Stacey Hundley was 3-4 with a double and two RBIs, while Andi McKenney
was 2-2 with a double and three RBIs. Jenise Wade hit her first home run
of the season.
In the second game B.J. Biringer allowed just two hits. Jen
Harrell was 3-4 with a double and three RBIs, Jennifer Nowacki was 2-3
with three RBIs including her fourth homer of the season. Wade went 3-4
with a double, Lesley Jenkins 2-3 with three RBIs, Hundley 2-3 and Kellie
Pheasant 2-2.
CNU is now 16-8-1 and 4-2 in Dixie Conference play. Shenandoah
is 3-18 and 0-4.
The Lady Captains travel to Chowan on Tuesday.
