SOFTBALL GETS 11TH STRAIGHT 20-WIN SEASON IN SWEEP AT EASTERN MENNONITE
HARRISONBURG, Va. – The softball team took two five inning victories
over Eastern Mennonite Friday, 12-1 and 11-3, and in the process recorded
their 11th consective 20-win season. CNU has not won less than 24 games
since 1989.
In the first game the Lady Captains collected10 hits, led by
Stacey Hundley who was 3-3 with two triples and four RBIs. Jen Harrell
was 2-3 with a triple and a home run and three RBIs and Donna Cerami recorded
the victory to run her record to 15-4.
In the second game CNU had 14 hits with Hundley going 3-4with
two more RBIs, Crystal Storey 3-4 with a triple and her first home run
along with two RBIs, Harrell 2-4 and Kellie Pheasant 2-3.
The wins stretched CNU’s winning streak to six and improved
its record to 20-8-1. The Lady Captains visit Randolph-Macon on Wednesday.
